The City of Sisterly Love – FGF Highlights, Philadelphia, PA

Philadelphia may be the “City of Brotherly Love,” but we were definitely in the city of sisterly love this past weekend. Such gracious and loving women with servant’s hearts—that’s how I would describe the volunteers at Fresh Grounded Faith Philadelphia.

Yet, those volunteers were just a sampling of the generous women who attended. I received so much encouragement, snacks, gifts, and over-the-top love from these women. Wow!

She Stayed and Prayed – FGF Highlights, Topeka, KS

Fellowship Bible Church was buzzing with joy when I arrived for Fresh Grounded Faith Topeka on Friday night. I met lots of eager and encouraging women, but I gotta say, one woman stood out to me right away…

Her name was Liesa, and she told me she had been praying and was planning to stay in that church all night on Friday to keep praying. So, when Terrie Bitter, our National Conference Director, arrived at the church early on Saturday morning, she ran into a very tired Liesa.

I Wish They All Could Be California Girls – FGF Highlights, Fresno, CA

I don’t know if it was the fresh air, the fresh produce, or the fresh wind of the Holy Spirit, but these California girls were full of refreshing life and energy! They were so enthusiastic about coming together with their sisters in Christ, and it was inspiring to be with them!

We were all super grateful for their vibrant spirits because it gave us—the other speakers and myself—the energy we needed to minister that weekend, especially with the coast-to-coast time difference combined with some of the worst travel delays and reroutes ever!

An Unexpected Silent Treatment – FGF Highlights, Little Rock, AR

When Meredith Andrews stepped on stage on Friday night of Fresh Grounded Faith Little Rock, she was in a tizzy of technical trouble! Her ear monitor wasn’t connected, and as she fiddled with it, she commented that there was a lady backstage who gave her the silent treatment when she asked for help. She wouldn’t help Meredith at all!

Well, I must admit, I was confused and so was the audience. We didn’t know what she was talking about until Saturday morning.

All Because of Jesus – FGF Highlights, Shreveport, LA

Let me tell you about my new friend, Maggie, who I met at Fresh Grounded Faith Shreveport. After I called her on stage, Maggie bounded up those stairs like a teenager and stood right beside me with a microphone as the audience cheered.

“Maggie?” I asked in front of the hundreds of women who filled Cypress Baptist Church, “How old are you?”

She turned and looked straight into the eyes of those eager women and said, “94!” And then she hooped and hollered, and so did everyone else.

I asked her how she did it. I wanted to know to what does she attribute her joy and vigor at the age of 94. And as you can imagine, every woman was listening intently.
