What is sweeter than southern iced tea?
How about the 1200 women who gathered at Vaughn Forest Church in Montgomery, Alabama for Fresh Grounded Faith this past weekend! That’s what!
I should have known how we would be lavished with southern warmth when my new friend, Gail, picked me up at the airport. She asked if I was thirsty, then handed me a perfectly chilled water bottle and a cloth napkin. Yes … Cloth! How lovely.
Our night started out with Meredith Andrews leading an incredible worship set. What a big voice in such a little body! And, she was just so charming. She told a crazy story of how she delivered her second child on her bathroom floor! No, I’m not kidding. That boy was in a hurry.
Stormie Omartian, as usual, ministered deeply to all uf us. My favorite quote of hers of the weekend was, “Forgiveness doesnt make the other person right; it makes you free.” Amen, preach it Stormie!
Another cool thing that happened: I got to reconnect with a woman named Carol who gave me my first digital Bible many years ago. I wrote about it in my Fresh Grounded Faith book; the title is, “Thy Word have I Hid in my Purse!”

I could go on and on, but I will save some gushing for later. Here’s just some of the summary…
– 5 beautiful souls chose new life in Christ. I cant wait to see them in Heaven!
– 50 honest women said they need a fresh start with Christ.
– And … I can hardly contain myself … these wonderful Alabama women sponsored 117 precious Compassion Children! Now, the dear little souls will be released from poverty, in Jesus name.
YEEHAW!
Okay, so soon I will show you a video of my friend Eli who works for Compassion. You will not BELIEVE what he did this weekend on stage … all for the children!
Stay tuned.
In fact, if you were in Montgomery, please write a few comments below and describe what our brother did … hilarious!
And if you havent been to a FGF yet … come on! It will make you smile, grow and rest.
