Isn’t it liberating to be openly nerdy? I loved hearing about your inner nerdiness this weekend. Life is just more fun this way!
I went shopping for you and filled the Ultimate C.S. Lewis Swag Bag! I’ve been dying to show you what’s inside, and today is the day! One lucky winner will get the whole bundle. Whether you’re a Lewis fanatic like me or just getting to know him, you’ll love this bag. At the end of this post, you can enter to win! It’s easy-peasy. But first, here’s what’s in the bag.
Owl Tea Infuser & The Silver Chair
This stainless steel owl tea infuser is to remind you of Glimfeather the Owl, who you will read about in The Silver Chair, my favorite of the seven books in the Chronicles of Narnia series.
Two of the characters, Jill and Eustis, attend Parliament with him and his fellow talking owls in chapter 4 of this delightful, insightful story. The children are also flown to the marshes on the north edge of Narnia on the back of these delightful birds. The charming, wise owls constantly rhyme when they speak so with that in mind, “Tu-whoo, tu-whoo! This tea and book are for you!”
Leather-Scented Candle
Since Lewis must have been surrounded by books when he sipped tea, enjoyed conversation, read and wrote, this candle should capture a bit of the fragrance that surrounded him. So, brew your tea, snatch a cookie, open a book, light the leather-smelling candle and get your Lewis on!

The Great Divorce
The Great Divorce is one of my favorite adult fiction works. I hope it makes you think. Perhaps you will find yourself in the story. I did. Here’s my favorite quote to whet your appetite:
“That is what mortals misunderstand. They say of some temporal suffering, ‘No future bliss can make up for it,’ not knowing that Heaven, once attained, will work backwards and turn even that agony into a glory.”
C.S. Lewis: The Companion and Guide by Walter Hooper
I had the privilege of meeting Walter Hooper in Oxford, England in 2011. He was Lewis’ last literary adviser and published much of Lewis’ work posthumously. This book is his take on the written works of Lewis, which he knows well. You couldn’t ask for a better guide or teacher to walk with you through these writings. Enjoy!
Turkish Delight Candy
In The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe, one of the main characters, Edmund, ventures into Narnia through the wardrobe and meets the White Witch of Narnia. She enchants him with magical Turkish Delight and tries to trick him into bringing his siblings back to her with the promise of more Turkish Delight. Well, you now have your own box of Turkish Delight and you will be enchanted by it for all the best reasons.
Yorkshire Blend Tea & Tea Cookies
When I visited Lewis’ Oxford home, I sipped tea in his parlor with my friend Lisa by the fireplace. We were served Yorkshire blend tea by the resident warden as she regaled us with story after wonderful story. Supposedly, the Yorkshire blend was his favorite. I love it and I hope you do too. It’s especially tasty with a Walker tea biscuit – or two!
Mug & Tea
I threw in a mug with one of my favorite quotes on the side. It says, “You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.” Ah, isn’t he the best? I added a specialty packet of customized Lewis tea to pair perfectly with the mug. Don’t you feel warmer already?
