I don’t know if it was the fresh air, the fresh produce, or the fresh wind of the Holy Spirit, but these California girls were full of refreshing life and energy! They were so enthusiastic about coming together with their sisters in Christ, and it was inspiring to be with them!
We were all super grateful for their vibrant spirits because it gave us—the other speakers and myself—the energy we needed to minister that weekend, especially with the coast-to-coast time difference combined with some of the worst travel delays and reroutes ever!
The interaction from these women and their pure joy was such an encouragement to me as we worshiped and studied God’s Word. Oh, girl, I came ready to minister to them, but the Lord definitely used them to minister to me!
And that was just the beginning! God was so good to us throughout the entire weekend!
Tammy Trent made us laugh, think, and overflow with joy as she sang, danced, and shared with such wit and authenticity.
Shaun Groves was full of the Spirit as he led worship … and you should have heard those California girls sing along!
And Karen Abercrombie lit up the stage as she did a dramatic interpretation of Rahab. Oh, and she gave us the scoop on her new Pure Flix show coming this December, and we’re all excited to see it.
I taught about how to live an unshakeable life by guarding your heart, glorifying God with your body, and dwelling well while using the Philippians 4:8 filter. We were reminded that God alone is our rock and our salvation! He is our fortress, and we will not be shaken! (Psalm 62:6)
Oh, sister, what a weekend! And it would not have happened if it weren’t for our two amazing Local Conference Coordinators—Gail Saylor and Cyndy Porter—who worked so hard and filled the auditorium at our host church, New Covenant Community Church. Through their leadership and the work of such giving volunteers, there were seven co-host churches that linked arms to reach the women in their area. It was obvious that this community is into unity, which is our calling as we work for the Kingdom!
Another thing that was super special about FGF Fresno is that one of my staff members, Valerie Lawrence, got to be there.
Val is “air traffic control” at the ministry office, and she holds down the fort while I’m traveling for FGF. So it was definitely a treat for her to join us at this event. She’s been on our ministry team for almost 15 years, and I can’t imagine doing FGF—or life—without her! She’s one of many behind-the-scenes women, and I love that she got a taste of the sweet fruit of her tireless labor.
Speaking of fruit, it was fun to see the Lord bear fruit in the hearts of the women who attended. We celebrated 50 women who chose to renew their commitment to the Lord and 112 children sponsored through Compassion International. Praise God! What an amazing number of children rescued from poverty.
It’s always so rewarding to watch the Lord work in such a way that you know it could only be of Him! Am I right?
Well, I for one am grateful for the refreshment my soul received from my California sisters. When I say, “I wish they all could be California girls,” that includes me too! I wish we would all share the hunger for God’s Word, unity within the body of Christ, and energy for carrying out His work—just like these California girls!
Thank You, Lord, for our Fresno sisters! Thank You for making us a family. Thank You for loving us as only You can. May we be united as one for Your glory! Amen.
Blessings,
Jennifer and the FGF Team!
