If you’ve ever been to Columbus, Ohio, then you know how much the ladies there love their state university. When you shout “O-H!”—they come back with a loud “I-O”! But that’s not all these sweet women are excited about. During last weekend’s Fresh Grounded Faith in Columbus, I experienced the even greater passion they have for the Lord.
All of the women were so cute and sweet, to say the least.
One lady even brought us a bag full of what are called “buckeye balls.” The buckeye is the state tree which produces a nut and is, of course, the mascot for The Ohio State University. These chocolates with peanut butter in the center look like the buckeye nut. They are sort of like a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, but round.
Girl, even if it were not for those delicious peanut butter-filled pieces of heaven, I would still love every minute of being with those wonderful women in Ohio! But I must admit … those buckeyes sure are good!
It was so great to be with Lisa Whelchel and Michael O’Brien. They feel like family!
And now … so do all my new Buckeye sisters! It is such a privilege, this side of heaven, to be together worshipping, learning, and loving each other!
A big thank you to Local Conference Coordinator Jeanne Bruce and to all of the volunteers who took such great care of us! And to Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church and the co-host churches who made us feel so loved and welcomed, please accept a huge, grateful thank you from all of us to all of you! You all were a blessing!
We are celebrating the 5 ladies who made decisions for Christ, the 49 women who chose to renew their commitment to Christ, and the 60 children sponsored through Compassion International. God is good!
