The No-Name Behind the Big-Name

Walter Hooper met C.S. Lewis in Oxford, England at The Kilns – C.S. Lewis’ home – in June of 1963. I met Walter Hooper a few summers ago at that same place.

As a young man, Walter traveled across the pond to meet the author who deeply influenced and inspired him. As a middle-aged woman, I too traveled across that same pond to study the author who deeply influenced and inspired me. I studied at the C.S. Lewis Institute. And, when I arrived, I received a treasure I never expected … I met Walter Hooper!

Eavesdropping. #Guilty

Okay, I don’t mean to do it. Really. I just can’t help it.

It’s not because I am nosey that I eavesdrop … it’s because I’m blind! I can’t help that I hear really, really well.

Hello my nerdlings! Hasn’t this week been a blast?! Thanks for joining my birthday celebration!

With a whole week dedicated to C.S. Lewis, I think it’s safe to say I have a little crush on C.S. Lewis. Wait, no. It’s a huge crush on him! There’s no use hiding it anymore.

It’s a snowy Tuesday here in Missouri, so I think today would be a good day for a poem. Did you know that C.S. Lewis was also a poet? Yea, he truly did it all! No wonder I love him, right?

Setting My Inner Nerd Free

I am about to turn 50 years old and I want to celebrate.

Any woman turning 50 should be able to celebrate however she wants to, right? (Nod your head.) She should be able to, at least for one week, celebrate by letting her inner most nerd escape and party. Right? (I hope you’re still nodding yes!)
