I’m Wishing My Dr. Phil a Happy 26th Anniversary

Well, as of today, my Dr. Phil and I have been married 26 years! Woohoo!

The first year was growing and good.

The next few were rocky and hard.

The following decade was steady and settling down.

The last ten years have been the best yet!

We have both grown; done our share of compromising and apologizing! We have become tougher and more tender; more affectionate and less selfish. And, we hopefully have decades more to perfect our union.

We just celebrated my parent’s 50th Anniversary and I want to be like them someday. When my Mom was handed the microphone at their reception, she looked at my Dad and said, “I want to thank God for the last 50 years with this beautiful and wonderful man.”

Well, I want to thank God for the past 26 years with this…quirky, funny, smart, goofy, loyal, resourceful, faithful, sweet, charming man! He really pursues God and still romances me.

Happy Anniversary, Honey! I love you!

Check out our wedding album from August 9, 1986…we had a lot more hair then! (Phil put this together last year to celebrate our 25th Anniversary.)

If You Have Missing Pieces, There Is an Answer

Dear Friend,

Have you ever asked these questions? Does God care? Is He fair? Is He even there? Although you may think you know all the right answers, sometimes they don’t always feel right.

Quick Sunday School answers were not enough for me.

Let Not Your Heart Be Truffled: Chocolate Recipes

I’m sharing some Chocolate Recipes, and I would love to share yours with the world of Missing Pieces, and beyond.

Those of you who know me well, know there is nothing that melts my taste buds more than sinking my teeth into a piece of dark chocolate. In fact, you could dip just about anything in dark chocolate, and I would eat it – and I’m not kidding!

Just like chocolate sends my taste buds into overload, life sometimes send us into overload. As Forrest Gump would say, “Life is like a box of chocolates – you never know what you’re going to get.”

See the box of chocolates above. It’s on the delicious-looking back cover of my newest Bible study – Missing Pieces: Real Hope When Life Doesn’t Make Sense. Yummy looking, huh?

While the chocolate in the picture, doesn’t have a lot of substance, I can assure you the Bible Study does.

But just for fun, let’s share some Chocolate Recipes.

Missing Pieces Filming, Honeymoon Tea, Hebrews Coffee, and Kathy Troccoli

March opened with the filming of my Missing Pieces Bible Study. I can’t even put into words how grateful I am for what God did. And, I cannot put into words how grateful I am that it is…OVER! Ha! (Relief is my favorite emotion!) I am incredibly grateful for the hundreds of ladies who came each night and were so supportive as the audience. If you want to see some behind the scenes pictures, check in here.

The following weekend after filming, I gave a “Honeymoon Tea” for Caroline and Clayton. They are getting married on May 18 – less than 2 months away! I sent invitations that included a white tea sachet and asked the ladies attending to fill it with a little cash for the honeymoon. When the ladies arrived, they placed their “tea bag” in a tea pot which Caroline took home. We used my great aunt’s silver service and lots of tea cups from friends and family. It was such a sweet time. I made crustless quiche and chocolate croissants. But, the best part of the menu was the blueberry scones we got from Hebrews Coffee. I have never tasted better scones! Anyway, it was a special time and an easy kind of shower both for the host and the guests – no shopping or wrapping or games! Yeehaw!  If you want to see the video I sent Clayton from the tea, click here.

Vintage Frames & Sacred Pathways

I tried to keep our travel/ministry calendar as sparse as possible in April so we would have plenty of time to enjoy preparing for the wedding. Part of that planning is the rehearsal dinner. I could have just used flowers, but when I priced them, I thought I could go to Hobby Lobby and own some cool stuff for the same amount of money I would have spent on something that would have drooped and died within days!  Don’t you just love Hobby Lobby? They constantly discount their items, so the rehearsal dinner has been financed at 50% off!

So, here’s the plan…each table will have a centerpiece featuring an old small decorative trunk. The trunk is open with a tall glass candle holder in it that rises above the top of the open lid. The glass candle holder has a coffee scented candle in it. Surrounding the trunk are clear and

A big thank you goes to our host venue Coggin Avenue Baptist Church and all the churches that have participated – – what an incredible group of people. There were many churches from in and around the Brownwood area that graciously served the Lord and we are thankful for each one of you who wanted to bring this event to your area.

We had an amazing weekend with about 1000+ women and men coming from all over the greater Brownwood area, and beyond. We joined together for fresh grounded Bible study from Jennifer Rothschild,  incredible testimony and sharing from Stormie Omartian and amazing worship and music with Michael O’Brien and Marcy Priest.

I attended the Saturday session at Coggin Baptist after being invited by a friend. What a marvelous experience! Instead of cleaning house and doing laundry, I got to spend some quality time with the Lord! The music with Marcie Priest, Stormie Omartian’s testimony and your inspiring testimony, Jennifer, was like sitting down with a close friend and discusssing the most important part of your life. It was so grounding and fun. Thank you and please come back. Bless you all. Cynthia J.
